Special Funds Donations

There are several special funds you can contribute to. These are described below:

  • Pond Improvements - Thanks to a generous challenge grant from an anonymous donor,
    Friends funds will focus park efforts on improvements to five fresh water ponds
  • Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail Fund — supports repair to sections of this
    Wellfleet trail that is in a state of disrepair
  • Joshua A. Nickerson Fund — supports conservation fellows at the Seashore
  • Arnold Ostwald Memorial Fund — promotes guided walks for the visually impaired and improved access to the Seashore by the handicapped
  • William A. Petitt Memorial Fund — enhances museum collections through acquisition of historical objects and out-of-print books

Trail Restoration projects
Funds are directed to the restoration of interpretive nature trails
National Seashore Research
The Joshua A. Nickerson fund was established in 1992. It receives, manages and disburses monies to support one or more Nickerson Conservation Fellows at the Seashore.
Old Harbor Life-Saving Station fund
Funds support the preservation of the Old Harbor Life-Saving Station and its furnishings at Race Point, Provincetown.
Arnold Ostwald Memorial Fund
Mr. Ostwald was a blind volunteer who believed that his visual impairment could be used to promote awareness of nature through the use of other senses. Monies received are used to maintain the Buttonbush Trail for the visually impaired.
William A. Pettit Fund
As a volunteer at Cape Cod National Seashore, Mr. Petitt helped to organize, care for and preserve Seashore museum collections. Donations made to the fund assist in continuing these efforts.
